her morning elegance.

the thing about it is, i'm just about the farthest thing from elegant in the morning. ha. anyway, this is a really cool video (yay for stop motion!) and beautiful song from oren lavie: her morning elegance. check it out!

ah-may-zing!

cheers,

emma

p.s. sorry for the long delay in posting, for anyone who actually reads this blog. it will be spring break soon in the land of much snow (also known as denver) and the lovely grace and i will hopefully get back to posting with some regularity.

a partnership to die for, among other things.

hey y'all, can we just talk about bones for a minute? kthx. it's my favorite show on television. it might even surpass lost for the time being, on account of how irritating all of the characters are being right now. ahem. are you hearing this, abrams? anyway, i digress. BONES. i was talking about it.

here we have the main characters (also, the partership to die for) dr. temperance "bones" brennen and fbi special agent seeley booth. how adorable are they?

so, why i like it: it's always intriguing and totally captivating, the plot lines are original, the dialogue is witty and spot on, and the character relationships are deliciously complex. and all of the characters are geniuses. just saying.

i highly suggest you go watch bones, right now. what are you doing reading my blog? you should be watching bones!!

sadly, despite a long while searching, there was no clip suitable enough to live up to the glory that is emily deschanel and david boreanaz. my apologies. so just look at this cute picture instead!
cheers,
emma
p.s. i too love tea. immensely. i have a monstrous love of tea.

and, also, emily's adorable sister zooey deschanel. and her band, she & him.

her voice is pretty much amazing.

so yeah. that's it. for real.

cheers,
emma

oh, joanna

i know she's old news now that her fantastic new album, have one on me, is so high on the charts, but joanna newsom is exquisite.
i just got the album, and i'm going through my first listen now. two tracks in you can tell that her melodies are as ancient and perfect as always. i'll admit that i kind of worship her, but there's no one like her on the music scene.

listening to a joanna newsom song is like going through the looking glass and discovering wonderland. something about them seems so eternal but magical, and the bizarre and detailed imagery never loses its charm.

my favorite so far is '81, which feels like a walk in the woods and an invitation to be at peace:

to conclude, i would recommend any of her albums, as they're all different. though at first i was unsure when i heard her four years ago, i now own every single song i can get my hands on.

cheers,
grace

things emma likes, post one.

howdy.

of the myriad things i enjoy, here are a few that i'd like to share with you (unintentional rhyming!). first up:

shut. up. how beast are those shoes? they're the "oxford comma heels." a little expensive, but i am in love with this website all the same.

second up:

fellow bloggers tavi gevenson of style rookie and berkely of oh, don't be shy, let's make a scene
i love tavi's spunk: she's only 13 but amazingly bold and really fashion forward. plus, she's really adorable!

and berkely's poetry is pretty darn cool. it's a great description of what it's like to be a teen. this is one of my favorites:

for reasons unknown

i don't understad why i care, but i know why i still try.
it's harder to quit; you can't quite grasp the situtation

we've little to no time
to make us make sense.

you have no idea how hard it was
to resist; you were feet away
it would've been perfect.

because you're an astonishing person.
and i want you to be mine

more than anything

ahhh. good stuff.

lastly: the song paper lace by swan lake. it's awesome. just give it a listen!

oh, i just love it!

that's all for now.

cheers,

emma
